What happens to a person with a $0 order?
In Split by Person mode, a $0 diner stays visible but owes no tax and does not participate in the tip split.
Tip before or after tax
In Equal Split mode, percentage tips can be calculated before or after tax. Fixed tip amounts do not need that choice. In Split by Person mode, percentage tip is based on the combined pre-tax food subtotal. Read the receipt and tip-base guide for examples.

Can I split the bill equally or by person?
Yes. Use the toggle below the main heading. Split Bills Equally is the default, and Split by Person lets you enter different order amounts for up to 30 diners.
Can I enter tax as a dollar amount?
Yes in Equal Split mode. Choose Add tax, then switch from % to $ and enter the total tax amount.
Can I enter a fixed tip?
Yes. Both calculator modes let you switch the tip from percentage to a fixed amount.
How is tax divided when splitting by person?
The calculator computes total tax from the food subtotal and distributes it proportionally according to each person's order amount.
How is tip divided when splitting by person?
The total tip is divided equally among diners whose order amount is greater than zero.
Does changing currency convert the bill?
No. Currency selection changes the symbol and number formatting only. It does not perform exchange conversion.
